Bill Kenton Ford

Bill K. Ford passed away at the age of 98. He was born February 8, 1927 in Pilot Point, Texas. He was the son of Roscoe and Lorene Ford. He went to be with his Savior on Easter Sunday April 20, 2025. He is survived by three loving brothers and sisters. Sam and June Ford, Loretta Smith, and Jerry and Shannon Ford.

Bill joined the Navy right out of Santo High School and served until the end of World War II. He came back to Texas to attend college and got his first job in Eula, Texas as a teacher and a coach. He then went to Glen Rose where he taught and coached, and later Baird where he served as their Superintendent of Schools. Bill then became the Superintendent in Belton, Texas and later moved to Texarkana, Texas as the Superintendent there. Bill helped to usher in the integration of schools while he was in Texarkana. He then became Superintendent in Denison, Texas and later moved to Longview, Texas as their Superintendent. Bill retired from public schools in Longview after serving Texas public schools for most of his life. Bill was a huge Baylor sports fan and loved watching all of their games. He earned his final degree from Baylor and dearly loved that university. Bill was a Deacon in every church where he served.

He is survived by daughter Sharla Cox and husband Herb, Georgia Elmore and husband Jeff, Mike Galloway and wife Deileen, grandchildren Justin Cox, and wife Katie, Cori Agnew and husband Trent, greatgrandchildren Caden Cox, Kaki Cox, Graham Agnew, Bennett Agnew and Parker Agnew. Poppa even learned to text on his cell phone so he could send messages to his great grand kids. Also survived by Carmen McCullough, Robin Ellmore, Jake Ellmore, Daisy Kerstetter and Elijah Parker. Also Elizabeth, Alex, Samantha, and Michael Galloway, Emma Sacco, and Meredith Galloway.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Dobbs Valley Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Dobbs Valley Cemetery.
