Biddy Jean Shewmake McMurry

Biddy Jean Shewmake McMurry, 83 of Mineral Wells, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010 in Katy, TX. Funeral services will be 4 PM Saturday at the South Side Church of Christ, William Eudy officiating. Burial will be in the Graford Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.She was born May 16, 1927 in Cisco, TX, the daughter of Biddy Lafayette and Lera Onita Williams Erwin. She attended Abilene Christian College. She married Claudine Shewmake in 1946 and made her home in Possum Kingdom and later Mineral Wells. She worked for Goodyear Tire for more than 30 years and retired in 1989.She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Claudia Jean Shewmake and her husband of 39 years, Claudine Cotton Shewmake. She is also preceded by her husband William Guy McMurry.Biddy Jean is survived by her son, Phillip Shewmake and wife Dorothy; her grandchildren, Virginia Hilker Shewmake and Stephen Phillip Shewmake; sister, Patsy Harvey and husband, Buck; brother, Bobby Ray Erwin and wife, Wynell; many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
