Betty Riggs

Betty Irene Riggs, 72, passed away April 18, 2009 in a Mineral Wells nursing home. She was born June 23, 1936 in Shreveport, Louisiana the daughter of Alphonse and Irene Bebe Martinez. She was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She married Richard Riggs in November of 1952 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Trinity Baptist Church in Wellston, Oklahoma with Rev. David Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in Wellston Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Cheryl Martinez, Tom Riggs, William (Billy) Riggs Sr., Sam and Leesa Riggs, daughter: Fran McLaurin, grandchildren: Lindsey Rooker, Rachel Martinez, William (Billy) Riggs Jr., Cody Riggs, Carolyn Riggs, Lea Riggs, Larry Martinez Jr., Kelly Martinez, Angel Riggs, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and numerous other friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Riggs on September 11, 2008, and sons: Richard O. Riggs, and Raymond David Riggs.
