Betty Lou Bullard went to her heavenly home on February 15, 2022 at the age of 80 years old. She was born July 8, 1941 in Eastland County, Texas as the oldest child to Vernon and Lois Cates. Betty attended Holliday High School where she met and married Windle Ray Bullard on April 19, 1957 in Holliday, Texas. Windle and Betty purchased property in the mid 70s on the Brazos River in the Soda Springs area of Millsap, where they eventually settled and helped make so many amazing memories with family and friends. They were married for 41 years until Windle's passing in 1998.
Betty worked many years at General Dynamics and Motorola. Her family remembers her most for being a very strong woman, always taking care of everyone around her, her amazing cooking, her love of Elvis, John Wayne and western movies.
Betty is survived by her brother Marvin (and Anita) Cates; sisters Cheryl (and Roy) Davis and Aline (and Terry) McCormack; daughters Wanda Smith, Carla (and David) Barker, Darla (and Danny) Salazar; son Steven Bullard; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband Windle Bullard; parents Vernon and Lois Cates; son-in-law Bobby Smith; and grandsons Ricky Jones, Jr., Zachary Salazar, James Shannon, and Ingram Carpenter.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Beulah Baptist Church. Visitation will be 1 hour prior. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
