Betsy Lucille Pilgrim, 88, passed away November 17, 2014 in a Mineral Wells nursing home. She was born April 18, 1926 in Mineral Wells the daughter of Ira and Opal William Armstrong. She married Penix Pilgrim on November 13, 1942 in Mineral Wells. Lucille had always been an active member of her church, Central United Methodist, being the last surviving charter member. She started being the pianist there as a teenager and continued until she was nearly 80 years old. She shared her musical talent with many, including the Senior Center Silver Notes. Lucille loved to laugh and even through these last few years fighting Alzheimer's Disease, she has remained a favorite with the staff at Mineral Wells Nursing Center. Services will be 2 PM Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Central United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Sturdivant Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her children and spouses: Carol Wayne and Pat Pilgrim of Lindale, Patricia Pilgrim of Mineral Wells, Terry Pilgrim of Mineral Wells, Nita and Ray Pennington of Palo Pinto, daughter-in-law: Linda Pilgrim of Poolville, grandchildren and spouses: Michael and Jody Pilgrim of Belton, Anne and Roy Martinez of Flint, Brent and Nicole Pilgrim of Arlington, Cody and Jennifer Pilgrim of Peaster, Carson and Jackie Pilgrim of Whitt, Chase and Whitney Pilgrim of Brady, Kiel Waite Pilgrim of Killeen, Ashleigh Pilgrim of Stephenville, Cali Pilgrim of Mineral Wells, Matt and Cindy Pennington of Mineral Wells, Mark and Charlotte Pennington of Palo Pinto, 16 great-grandchildren, brother: Hubert Armstrong of De Soto, and sister: Thelia Mattatal of Big Sandy. She was preceded in death by her husband, son: Donald, daughter-in-law: Natalie, and sister: Beulah.
