Benny "Ben" Wayne Lisby, 79, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in Graford.Services will be Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Fellowship of Christian Believers Church in Graford, Texas at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Graford Cemetery. Viewing will be held December 9, 2018 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Well, Texas from 3 -5 p.m. Jerry Lindsey will officiate.Ben was born on March 24, 1939 to Otho and Thelma Lisby in Decatur, TexasBen was a horse trainer and won a World National Paint Championship. He was a Steer Wrestler and Team Roper and had a great love for teaching those who wanted to learn. Ben gave his life to the Lord and dedicated his life to preaching the Word of God to anyone who would listen and would often times tell you about the Lord even if you didn't want to hear it. Ben had a heart for the people. God led Ben and his family to Graford, Texas in 1991 where he founded the Fellowship of Christian Believers Church. Ben was the church's pastor for 27 years until the time of his death. Ben touched many lives in his 79 years. He was an amazing man of God who would do anything to help others receive their salvation.He was preceded in death by his parents Otho and Thelma Lisby, his brother Bobby Lisby, sisters Joan Jackson, Rumell Pitts and Gwen Combs, son Mark Lisby and daughter Angelica Faith.Those he left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Scharee Lisby of Graford, daughter Sabrina Carlyle and husband David of Graford, daughter Cassie Hall and husband Keith of Graford, son Matt Lisby of Arizona and son Justin Lisby. His grandchildren Makenna Carlyle, Callan Carlyle, Dylan Carlyle, Kash Hall, Roxy Hall, Matt Russell, Ben Lisby, Lucas Lisby and Marcus Lisby as well as a few great grandchildren. Sisters Martha Choate of San Angelo, Beverly Lindsey and husband Jerry of Weatherford, Venita Egler of Weatherford, Sue Dodgen and husband Don of Colorado; brothers Gerry Lisby of Springtown, Jerry Lisby of Decatur and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
