Barbara Tibbets

Barbara Tibbets 70 of Mineral Wells passed away on December 24, 2012. She was born in Houston the daughter of Franklin Lloyd and Lee (Hall) Childress. Barbara was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells and very active in the American Legion; serving on the American Legion Women's Auxiliary. She was also a volunteer at the Senior Center and worked at the Chamber of Commerce. Survivors are children: Terry Emmons of New York, New York; Cyndee Schlesinger and husband Michael of Weston, Florida; Leslie Gayden and husband Marshall of Medford, New Jersey; grandchildren: Chad and Ryan Cooles, Stevie Hayes and husband Joshua, Hunter, Bailey and Trevor Gayden; great-grandchildren: Avery, Lillian and Michaela Hayes; sister Kathleen Carpra of Florida and nephew Jack Yarbrough. Visitation is Friday December 28, 2012 from 6-8PM. Officiating the service Saturday December 29, 2012 11AM in the chapel will be Pastor Kirk Horton, with burial following at Woodland Park Cemetery. Pallbearers are Terry Emmons, Marshall, Hunter and Trevor Gayden, Michael Schlesinger and Jack Yarbrough. Family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to: Mineral Wells Senior Center, American Legion Auxiliary or Girls State Fund.
