Barbara Ann Harrison

Barbara Ann Harrison, 63, of Mineral Wells, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009, in Fort Worth. Funeral services will be 10 AM Tuesday at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel, Rev. Jimmy Lively officiating. Burial will be in the Woodland Park Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brandan Schutz, Thomas Harrison, David Jones, Billy Riggs, Billy Riggs, Jr. and Jimmy Shockley. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday.Barbara was born July 31, 1945 in Smithville, Mississippi, the daughter of Lee Otis and Opal O. Stanford Harris and moved to Mineral Wells in 1954. She married Jerry Harrison, September 14, 1962, in Mineral Wells. She was a member of the Lawn Terrace Baptist Church. She was a nurse and worked at Palo Pinto General Hospital many years, doing what she loved best, caring for people. She was voted "Nurse of the Year" in 1994 and 1996.Survivors include her husband, Jerry Harrison of Mineral Wells; daughter, Leslie Schutz of Mineral Wells; son-in-law, Billy Riggs of Mineral Wells; son, Johnmark Harrison and wife Rikkie of Mineral Wells; special family friend, Christy Harrison of Mineral Wells; mother, Opal Crain of Mineral Wells; sisters, Linda Sparks of Mineral Wells, Tammy Jones of Wichita Falls, Betty Jarman of Van and Sandra Poynor of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Brandan, Brooklyn, Thomas, Billy Riggs, Jr. Lea Riggs, Mikeulyn and Heaven; great-grandchildren, Braydan, Carlee and Mariah; sister-in-law, Johnetta Barnes of Mineral Wells; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Harrison of Mineral Wells and Billy Harrison and wife Roseann of New York; very best friend, since childhood Darlene Hopkins; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and many, many friends.She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelly Riggs; father, Otis Harris; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Dorothy Harrison.
