Arnoldo M. Samaniego

Arnoldo M. Samaniego, 91, passed away in his sleep at home on June 20, 2024 at 7:41 pm. Members of his family surrounded him with love as he transitioned into his new heavenly life. He was born September 22, 1932 in Del Rio, TX, and raised in Sonora, TX. Arnoldo lived a true cowboy's life doing ranch and farm work throughout his days.

He was the cornerstone of the family, our loving father and our cowboy among many other things. 

Arnoldo met Natalia Tafolla in Sonora, TX, married and had four children, then moved and settled in Mineral Wells in 1964. It was here that he worked as a welder at Perry Equipment Corporation (PECO) for thirty-two years. He continued his passion for ranching during and even after his career at PECO.

He is preceded by his eldest daughter, Velia Barrientos. He is survived by his wife of 68 yrs of marriage, Natalia Samaniego, son, Arnold Samaniego Jr., daughter, Sandra Austin, and son, Javier Samaniego. He also leaves behind 17 Grand children and 21 Great Grand children who adored him. 

Because of his warm and unselfish nature, he earned the respect of his coworkers who named him "Amigo" (friend). He was humble and genuine and had respect for all life, people and nature. He began and ended every single day of his life in prayer. 

He is now with our Lord and Savior.

 Prayer of the rosary will be at 6pm on Tuesday, June 25th at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home, with the viewing to follow. Mass will be at the chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 2 pm. on Wednesday June 26th, with internment and refreshments to follow.
