Anita Louise Powell

July 27, 1935 — December 24, 2022

Anita Powell made her entrance on July 27, 1935 and she left here on Christmas Eve 2022 to
join the celebration of Jesus’ birth that was happening in Heaven. She truly was HOME for Christmas!

Anita had many names mom, grandma, Bma, Gma, Nita, and friend.  She is well known for her many talents: an artist, worshipper, prayer warrior, antique dealer and maker of the best bologna sandwiches ever made.

Mom had a host of many to greet her as she entered her forever home. Her loving husband, Buddy Powell; two sons-in-law, Joe Kelley and Jim Stone; her mother and father, Lorene and Horace Venable; two brothers, Carl and Horace; and sister Edith.

Her most valuable treasure was and is her family including her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. They continue her legacy of worship, spiritual warfare, painting, enjoying friends and family, and making memories.

Her children and their children are: Nathalie Kelley of Snyder, TX and those under her wing of prayer, Erick Lewis and his wife, Amy of Sweetwater, TX, Joshua Kelley of Snyder, TX, and Stephen Kelley of Colorado City, TX; daughter, Soozy Stone of Mineral Wells and Soozy’s daughters, Jennifer Westbrook, of Mineral Wells, and Christine Easter and her husband, Tim, of Santo, and her son, Jeremiah Stone, of Mineral Wells, Anita’s son Kenny Powell and his wife Kimberley of North Richland Hills and Kenny’s sons, Chad Taylor and his wife Barbara, of Ft. Worth, Brad Powell and his wife Devan of Ft. Worth, Anthony Powell of Ft. Worth, and Cory Hahn of Ft. Worth, and Kimberely’s sons Shaun Childers of North Richland Hills and Patrick Childers of Weatherford. Her legacy continues with 15 great-grandchildren include John Caleb, Ean, Summer, Jerry, Aly, Bryan, Maykala, Kyndal, Taytum, Rylie, Jamie, Temperance, Faith, Elizabeth, Hailey, Matthew, Jodee, Elizabeth; and 10 great-great grandchildren. Her faithful, long-time friends that were with her through good times and bad are Kay Willmon and Glady Loftis; plus, so many others.

Believe me, if she knew you, you were prayed for.

There is no visitation planned. The memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Well of Life Church, 2514 Highway 180 E, Mineral Wells, TX with Soozy Stone officiating.
