Alonzo Edward "Mitch" Mitchell, of Mineral Wells, passed away in his 75th year on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in Mineral Wells. Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday at the St. Mark Lutheran Church with Rev. Ernie Bernet officiating. Burial will be in the Veteran's Section of the Woodland Park Cemetery with full military honors provided by members of the United States Navy.Mr. Mitchell was born October 15, 1934 in Whiteflat, Texas, the son of Clarence Edward and Alma Lester Mitchell. He married Judy Wendt November 12, 1969, in Chicago, IL. He served over 21 years in the United States Navy including two tours in Vietnam. He was a Chief Petty Officer working with interior communications. He retired from the Navy and moved to Mineral Wells in 1978 and was a member and past elder and trustee at the St. Mark Lutheran Church. He retired from S-Tec in 2001 working in quality control and was a representative of the FAA. He was a life member of Mineral Wells VFW Post 2399, the Fleet Reserve Association and served as President of the Little League Association here.Survivors include his wife, Judy of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Mark Mitchell of Mineral Wells and Brian and Michelle Mitchell of Granbury; grandchildren, Anthony, Emily, Destiney, Devan and Makayla; brother, Larry Mitchell and wife, Lyn of Keller; several nephews.
