Alice Jackson is now in the Lord's arms; she passed away on August 1, 2015. She was born in Strawn, Texas; the daughter of the late Robert Hicks Sr. and Blanche (Straughter) Hicks. Visitation will be Friday August 7, 2015 from 6-8pm; graveside service will be Saturday August 8, 2015 10am at Pollard Cemetery; officiating will be Alvin Garrett. Pallbearers will be Jerome Jackson, Johnny Rounell Johnson, Emanuel Hicks Jr., Marcel Reese, Shawn Reese, Dennis Carter, Julius Mercer and Wayne Duncan. Honorary pallbearers will be Clifford Reese, Beverly Reese, William David Carter, Steve Carter, Fred Mercer, Chris Mercer, Allen Harvey and Ronald Harvey. Alice was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; her grandkids and great-grandkids were her heart. Alice leaves behind daughter, Carol Jackson of Mineral Wells; son, Johnnie Jackson of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Shomari Carson and wife Teisha, Kenisha Richardson and husband Clyde of Mineral Wells, Jerome Jackson and wife Jelani of Wichita Falls, Johnny Rounell Johnson and wife Stevie, Candice and husband Juan and Tonya Jackson of Mineral Wells; 11 great-grandchildren, Sierra, Eliasha, Breianna, Diamond, Jayla, Khalil, Naudika, Jaiona, Khyria, Aniya, and Legend; sister, Elizabeth Mercer of Illinois; special friends Alvin Garrett, Debbie Bramlett, Cynthia Rodriguez and Eugene Sadler; extended family, Cindy Johnson, Billy Stiggers Sr., Billy Stiggers Jr., Edith Cotton, Debbie Brown, Donna Stiggers, David Stiggers and Elaine Mapps. She was preceded in death by both parents, Robert Hicks Jr., Doxie Duncan, Simms Hicks, Wade Hicks, Caldonia Woods, Emanuel Hicks Sr. and Tommy Hicks. The family would like to give a special thanks to Palo Pinto General Hospital, Doctors, nursing and housekeeping, Harris Methodist Southwest and Mineral Wells Rehab and Nursing. Alice loved Elvis Andrews and her Texas Rangers.
