Alan Grimes

After a lengthy bout with cancer Alan Steven Grimes 57, moved to a higher calling. Born in Mineral Wels, Texas where he remained a resident in the area most of his life. After serving his country in the U.S. Navy he continued his education in technology and worked at Mitchell Industries with aircraft electronics and auto pilots; and eventually went on to get his pilot's license. He was retired from Century Flight Systems as an auto pilot technician and test pilot. Alan was an accomplished musician, loved music and played in various bands in the area. He is survived by his sons, Dakota, Levi and Porter and their mother Paullett of Garner, TX, a brother Rodger Grimes and his wife Caroline of Pearland, TX, and a sister Dianne Murdock and her husband Richard of Vicksburg, MS., a niece, nephews and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by parents Florence Harvey Grimes and Fletcher Estelle Grimes, and grandparents, Nora and Robert Harvey. A memorial service is scheduled for Alan at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Chapel, on January 14, 2013 at 11AM.
