Vivian passed

Vivian “Midge” Winona Thurman went home to be with her Savior on October 28, 2019. She passed away peacefully at her home in Santo, TX where she lived most of her life. Midge was born in Gordon, TX on April 9, 1930. She was married to BJ “Pete” Thurman for 71 years. Midge was the picture of the Proverbs 31 woman and the moment she met her Savior, we’re sure she heard “Well done, my good and faithful servant”. She loved serving the Lord and was an active member of Word of Faith Church in Santo for many years, selflessly giving her time to the Food Pantry Ministry. She loved cooking, was an avid gardener always sharing the vegetables that she grew with others, and she enjoyed her yard and flowers. Most of all, she loved her family. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31 at Word of Faith Church in Santo with burial following at Bosley Cemetery. Survivors include her son, Billy Jack Thurman and wife Kristle Young; daughter, Pam Davis and husband Ronnie Davis; grandchildren, Jennifer Freeman and husband Danny, Jeremiah Davis and wife Amanda, Micah Davis and wife Coraima, Andrew Thurman and wife Randall; great-grandchildren, Olivia Thurman, Asher Thurman, Oliver Thurman, and Everleigh Davis; sisters, Vera “Peggy” Lewis, Anna Jordan, Joyce Spurlock; brothers, W.C. Walker and Joe Walker all from Santo. She was affectionately called “Aunt Midge” by numerous Nieces and Nephews Midge was preceded in death by her father, Chester Edward Walker; mother, Ida Emma “Sadie” Walker; brother, Chester Eugene Walker; brother-in-laws, O’Brien Lewis and Eugene Spurlock. As, D.L. Moody once said, “If you hear that I’ve died, don’t believe it. I’ve never been more alive!”
